Best Browser on the Internet?

Just because your computer came out of the box with Internet Explorer (IE) for surfing the internet does not mean its the best... far from it actually when you consider the other contenders Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Opera. Or if you are on a Mac; Camino, Firefox, Flock, OmniWeb and Opera all perform well on Mac Machines, but overall the best browser for Mac users is Safari.

Browsers are like cars, you want to travel fast, securely and in style with lots of cool features. We recommend using Chrome, Firefox or Opera for viewing websites for these reasons.

In addition, they are keeping up with the latest in HTML and Java Script code writing, whereas IE tends to not show a website's features (Flash, Ajax, JQuery, HTML5) without a little extra help in the coding department. A frustration for many a web developer.

When developing a website, Firefly does make sure all coding is showing correctly on the top 5 browsers. However, we do not support IE6. If you wish to stay with Microsoft Internet Explorer we highly suggest you upgrade to IE8 ASAP. Otherwise you are missing out on some great website's functions.

Basic advertising rules

You advertise to make a sale. It's as simple as that.

Now how do you go about doing that? You begin with a good plan, good copy and a good design. We always refer to AIDA to help us.

A - Attract "Attention"
I - Stimulate "Interest"
D - Create "Desire"
A - Incite "Action"

WEB DESIGN - Your website is truly a 24/7 salesman. So your home/main page is crucial to getting your audience to read the information that causes the kind of reaction you desire. If your customer can't find your product or service, they won't waste a lot of time looking for it. They'll click to the next site and probably never return.

PRINT DESIGN - It does not matter if it's a magazine ad or a direct mail piece, it should always incite an action of making the phone ring or getting customer's feet to your front door. Words like: "FREE!", "NEW!", "Proven Sucess", "Limited Time Offer", and "Exclusively For...", all work to get some kind of response from your potential customer.

Get the correct response and you get the sale. If you don't have an advertising plan, a terrible thing happens... Nothing.

Advertising 101

Is there an easy way to get your business known to your clients/customers?
Yes there is, and it starts with a plan. With a continuous and targeted marketing plan rather than the "occasional and shoot from your hip" plan, business can get easier.
If prospects have a positive view of your wares and reputation before you call or before they start shopping, you're that much closer to getting a sale.

1. Make your customers feel special - Even with a website, if a customer calls, make them feel important on the phone. Repeat customers? Send a personal thank-you card.

2. Blog your knowledge - Research active e-mail discussion lists and online bulletin boards that are relevant to your business and audience. Join several and start posting expert advice to solve problems or answer questions.

3. Don't let customers slip away - Studies show it can cost up to 10 times more to land a new customer than to keep an existing one. Being kind to customers is the smartest low-cost marketing you can do. Which leads us back to #1, make your customer feel special.
